Apothercare partners with scientists on the cutting edge of women's health research. Our aim is to promote advances in women's health products and pharmaceuticals. We cut through the hype and bring the science to the consumer.
Pamela Miles, Founder
In November 2016, Pamela was introduced to a Canadian early-stage medicinal cannabis investor, just as cannabis was legalized in Massachusetts. Her curiosity was sparked, and she began investigating and researching cannabis topicals for women’s health and wellness. Pamela soon realized that while many products were developed for and marketed to women, there was very little peer-reviewed research to support the claims being made. Any research that did exist wasn’t specifically related to women.
She founded Apothercare — to increase awareness and funding for scientific research conducted for women, by women. Our current and previous collaborations with:
Dr. Staci Gruber, Director, Cognitive and Clinical Neuroimaging Core, McLean Hospital MIND Program, McLean Hospital Associate Professor in Psychiatry McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School
Dr. Cindy Orser, Chief Science Officer Clip Labs, and
Dr. Brianna Cassidy formerly Chief Science Officer at CDX Analytics
are leading to a greater understanding of the safety and efficacy of products for the human biome.
Pamela Miles is a former college administrator, instructor, and special needs advocate, who transitioned her education and advocacy experience into a role as CEO and founder of a private research organization that works with scientists to explore and ensure safety of products made for women. Having spent her early career researching and advocating for quality affordable childcare and living wages for childcare professionals, Pamela has been involved in the exploration of cannabis science and research since legalization in Massachusetts. As a community activist, she has served on the boards of local education funds and chaired public-school funding initiatives. A specialist in Autism Spectrum Disorders, Pamela served as a volunteer Surrogate Special Needs Parent, advocating for educational services for children in the custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. She has been a Community College Instructor and was most recently the Director of The Keys to Degrees Program, a two-generation college program for single parents and their children.
Pamela holds a BA in economics and sociology from Wheaton College — when it was a women’s college — an MS in Administration from Wheelock College, and completed a post-graduate certificate in Autism Studies at Lesley University
